Caring & Sharing, Inc. offers a continuum of care that focuses on the total family. These services are provided with dignity and care, emphasizing the emotional and spiritual enrichment of youth and their families. Caring & Sharing, Inc. strives to provide quality services that respond to the needs of families and youth who have service behavior problems. The program builds social, emotional, and physical growth and development while enhancing children’s language and literacy. Academic support in math, reading, teen resiliency, communication arts, social studies, computers, etc. addresses child achievement needs and goals. Recreational activities are also offered such as bowling, skating, movies, and field trips to the zoo, museum, and swimming. Licensed social workers, certified teachers, special education teachers, youth development workers, and administrators provide a holistic and strong circle of support for young children, youth, and their families. The Missouri PIRC partners with Caring & Sharing, Inc. by providing comprehensive parent education sessions for families. These sessions, held on Saturdays, provide parents with knowledge of child development and growth, effective parent involvement strategies to support child achievement, how to reinforce learning in the home environment, and ways to promote family literacy strategies to help families meet their needs in all life domain areas. Caring & Sharing, Inc. was established by a group of retired Kansas City Missouri School District administrators, principals, teachers, and other staff who have identified that families in need must have more concentrated and comprehensive support to survive. |
